This week for Renovation and Reclamation Friday, the topic is letting go, working with the shadows, the flickering awarenesses that come and go, as well as the more substantial parts of us that might seem immovable. This seems a critical gesture in these times of so much change.
I am inspired by the seminal work of Alexis Pauline Gumbs in her poem “Letting Go” that is the conclusion of the book called Dub: Finding Ceremony. Here is the ending stanza:
And when you love, you let it go. you put it down. you show your shoulders what to do with sky. and love is how, and love is when and and love is why.
