My True Home
Good Monday Morning!
This morning the questions on my mind and heart are all about home. Where is your true home? How do you know when you are home? What does it feel like? I am basically nomadic by nature, tied more to the moment that to the place for the better part of my life. There is no doubt some virtue in that. But these days having made it to past sixty, I’ve begun to notice that I am more interested in place than I used to be. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved places! But I’ve loved them through travel, through temporary occupation rather than by a tie to the land itself.
As we are culturally beginning to awaken to acknowledging the ancestors and the people who lived on the land before it became a thing to own houses and property in the way we do now, the question seems even more important; where is home? And is that home a place or a feeling, a person or an occupation?
It is easy to say that one is home wherever one is in a given moment, but the better question is do you feel at home? In this body? In this world? In this moment?
I’ve recorded a little audio for you today. Please let me know how you like it!
