Good morning! First things first, here is the link to join me this morning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern for our group divination session. So wonderful to be together in this very special way, sharing what is on our hearts and creating some guidance and insight for the week. Meanwhile this will be the first of two posts today. In this post, I’ll introduce the new podcast and later today I will offer commentary on today’s group divination session as a new post as I did last week. The Monday Morning is Going Live post will remain pinned to the homepage on the Substack website as well so you can always grab the link there as well.

Now to The Lion, The Witch and The Oracle, a reference* I’m sure many of you will recognize. Loving words and rhythm as I do, I have to confess that using this configuration for the name of the podcast came first as a lovely sounding phrase before it began to coalesce with meaning. I also love to re-define words, letting their meaning and impact change through the creation of new contexts. The Podcast is all about new context. The context in a concise way is embodied by the words “community of inquiry.” How can we come together and find resources for life through our shared humanity? This is the question. And, well, also the answer in my estimation.
And the questions are not always about answers, but instead, more about shared experience, shared context, something that can emerge through our being together. Images evoked by words can be powerful vehicles of shared context. The Lion, for example, is a symbol of strength, majesty, dignity and power. I’d guess that most of us would feel complimented if someone called us a lion. And some of us (myself for one) were born in the month of Leo, the Lion being the symbol for that astrological sign. I’ll take any of the attributes of strength, majesty, dignity and power if they are being offered!
As for the Witch, unlike like the novel, the witch in this rendition is not evil. The word Witch is associated with magical powers, powers emanating from all kinds of intention. The Witch is here in the name of the Podcast to offer the potential for flight, for magic and for shape-shifting. Flight might seem obvious (you are probably thinking of broomsticks), but I am actually thinking of the way we can set our thoughts free, how they might be like birds in the sky, flying through with ease. If you achieve the capacity for literal flight without the aid of machinery, please do be in touch right away, though!
Then there is, as there always is, magic. Magic is the result of letting our perception be fluid, nimble, changeable as things are in the world. Magic is the result of relating to the moment openly, humbly, taking the risk to show up not knowing what exactly will happen. I am asking that of each of you who come to the Monday morning sessions. Who knows what will show up? Or who will show up? Or what the Oracle will say.
Then, of course, there is the Oracle, the magnificent living stream of wisdom that is the I Ching. Emanating from the essence of all that is, deep in the history of humanity, as well as the flowing through your essence in every moment, this stream of wisdom is collective, alive and fresh with insight but it relies on your presence and participation to be available to you. The Oracle can only confer wisdom when you participate, when you show up and make an offering of your heart and soul to the process. Otherwise the Oracle is mute or incomprehensible.
The magic made from our joint inquiry, from the essence of the moment and of each of us, has the potential to change your very shape, to change how you feel in your body, heart and mind. Shape-shifting in this way is not the practice of hiding ill intent, but rather of revealing our true humanness, allowing our “shape” to correspond exactly with the moment, with the world, with the other sentient beings in our awareness in openness and curiosity.
For now, the Podcast will consist of the recordings of the Monday Morning Inquiry. These recordings will be posted within 24 hours of the meeting and are available to paid subscribers. The subscription for a month is $7, for a year is $64.** The live inquiry sessions are free and the write-up following the session will be posted by the end of Monday and is also free.
Thanks for reading, for participating and for sharing!! I am so glad you are here!

** If these subscription fees are out of reach for you, please be in touch and I will be happy to share the recordings with you.
