Good Monday Morning!
Life has been tumultuous and demanding and it has been a long time since I’ve felt able to be here regularly but recently I have felt called to initiate an experiment here with all of you. It is an experiment in creating a community of inquiry, a place to explore the meaning and impact of the moment right in the middle of the moment. Monday Morning Notes was founded on the idea of writing to you from the spontaneous and unpredictable arisings each week and now, I am inviting each of you to join me live in exploring the world in this way. Jumping into the not-knowing nature of things together with all of our hearts makes magic of the ordinary, mining wisdom from whatever arises, and nurturing each of us with the collective energy of each other as we navigate the evolution/de-evolution of life here on earth.
To enact this experiment, I will be using the I Ching Oracle and asking for 6 people to step in to help create the reading. For anyone who isn’t familiar, the I Ching Oracle, an ancient treasure of teaching on the nature of life, has been in existence for thousands of years. The book is a sequence of hexagrams that offer a way into understanding the primordial movements of heaven and earth as they manifest through humanity. A deep river of wisdom flows through the oracle, a wisdom enlivened and available through inquiry. An inquiry, genuine, focused and formulated with sincerity, brings you into the river, providing insight and support in response to your inquiry regarding any kind of circumstance.

We’ll open our session by bringing whatever is alive in each of us to the table. You can bring that in with words, pictures, music or even dance as you feel inspired to share. Next, we’ll create an inquiry together, a question that encompasses all we have shared. Then, we’ll create a hexagram; 6 people or 6 groups of people depending on the number of people joining, each throwing the coins to create a line. [A hexagram is a 6-line figure. Each person joining will want to have on hand 3 coins of the same numerical value to use in creating a line of the hexagram. I’ll give instructions on how to use them.] Once our reading is created, I’ll offer some interpretation of what we have created and invite questions and discussion. Altogether I am thinking we will spend about 45 minutes together.
Recordings of our sessions will be posted under a new heading, a podcast! I’m terribly excited about the idea of posting these readings and sharing them widely as collectively-created divinations can be of great benefit, offering insight, perspectives and advice that is timely and auspicious. More information about the Podcast will show up here on April 14, 2025, following our first live session on April 7, 2025.
So, I am inviting each of you into the Monday morning moment with me to explore, inquire and discover what is arising for us, both individually and collectively, and how we might support each other in this fractious time. I’ve held a number of group divination sessions in the last few years and they are always inspiring and helpful, shedding light on all we are collectively facing. I am certain that our efforts together will be beneficial not only for ourselves but for anyone who wants to tune in later.
